So, most of you may know that I have 3 dogs, (Sherman, Lilly and Reggie) and that 2 of the 3 are usually misbehaving (peeing on carpets, stealing food, etc.)
Well, we let them all outside around 7 a.m as we always do every morning and Lilly decides to go in the backyard while our backs are turned for less than a minute. She has an electric collar that we swore was working, we have a fence on the side of the house, yet she manages to sneak back there somehow.
My backyard is literally a forest, and it's Coyote season around here so my Mother begins panicking as my 14 year old brother heads into the woods to find her. Meanwhile, I'm having one of the worst panic attacks my anxiety has given me in my entire life.
My mother is running around the neighborhood looking for her and I'm looking around the yard for her in-case she comes back. At this point, my mom is already late for work and my brother is late for school. The other two dogs are inside so we don't have to worry about them since, compared to Lilly, they are well-behaved.
15 minutes later, my mother and I are standing on the back porch shouting for both Lilly and my brother. He had his cell-phone on him but it's a forest so there's little to no reception out there.
Usually if Lilly is back there, she doesn't go far. But a mile or so into the woods is a creek and she wound up around there. My brother comes back with her trailing behind him after half an hour of searching and my mother and I were so relieved. We almost gave up looking for her.
She's inside sitting next to me right now but I'm still a little shaken up. She's a small dog and those Coyotes and Foxes could easily hunt her down.
